Subscription Terms

Effective date: June 02, 2025 • Last updated: June 02, 2025

SoberX — Habit Change & Recovery Support

These Subscription Terms ("Subscription Terms") govern your purchase of and access to SoberX Premium, the paid subscription tier of the SoberX application operated by ICI Tech Teknoloji A.Ş. ("Company", "we", "us", or "our").

These Subscription Terms are incorporated into and form part of our Terms of Service. By starting a free trial or purchasing a subscription, you agree to both these Subscription Terms and the Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict, these Subscription Terms prevail with respect to subscription-related matters.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data in connection with your subscription.

1. Subscription Plans

Free Plan

SoberX is available to all users at no charge on the Free Plan, which includes access to the core features of the app. No payment method is required to use the Free Plan.

SoberX Premium

SoberX Premium is a paid subscription that unlocks the full feature set of the app. Premium features are clearly labelled within the app. We reserve the right to adjust which features are included in each plan — see Section 15.

Premium is available in the following billing intervals:

PlanBilling IntervalNotes
MonthlyEvery 1 monthBilled each month on the same date as the original purchase
AnnualEvery 12 monthsBilled once per year; typically offered at a discounted effective monthly rate

Current pricing is displayed in your local currency within the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android) at the time of purchase. Prices may vary by region.

Individual use

SoberX Premium is a single-user subscription. It may not be shared, transferred, or used by more than one person. Each user must hold their own subscription.

2. Free Trial

We may offer a free trial of SoberX Premium to new subscribers. The following terms apply to all free trials:

Eligibility

  • Free trials are available to new subscribers only — users who have not previously held a SoberX Premium subscription on the same Apple ID or Google account.
  • We reserve the right to determine free trial eligibility at our sole discretion.
  • One free trial per person. Creating multiple accounts to access additional free trials is prohibited and may result in account termination.

Trial period

  • The length of the free trial will be clearly stated before you start it (for example: 7 days or 14 days).
  • During the trial period, you have full access to all SoberX Premium features.

Payment method requirement

  • To start a free trial, you will be required to provide a valid payment method via the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
  • Your payment method will not be charged during the trial period.

Automatic conversion

  • At the end of the trial period, your subscription will automatically convert to a paid subscription at the applicable rate for the plan you selected, unless you cancel before the trial ends.
  • You will receive a reminder from Apple or Google (subject to their notification settings) before the trial ends.

How to cancel before being charged

To avoid being charged, you must cancel before the last day of the trial period through the platform where you activated the trial:

PlatformCancellation path
iOSSettings → [your name] → Subscriptions → SoberX → Cancel Free Trial
AndroidGoogle Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SoberX → Cancel

Important: Uninstalling the app, logging out of your account, or contacting us does not cancel a free trial. You must cancel through the App Store or Google Play.

3. Billing and Payment

Who processes payments

All billing for SoberX Premium is handled directly by:

  • Apple Inc. for subscriptions purchased through the iOS App Store
  • Google LLC for subscriptions purchased through Google Play

We do not process payments directly. We never receive, store, or have access to your credit card number, debit card number, bank account details, or billing address. All payment disputes must be directed to Apple or Google (see Section 7).

Billing date

Your subscription is billed on the date of your original purchase (or the date your free trial converts to a paid subscription). Subsequent renewals are billed on the same date each month or year.

Failed payments

If a payment fails, Apple or Google may attempt to retry the charge. During a retry period, your access to Premium features may be suspended or downgraded. If payment is not successfully collected, your subscription may be cancelled automatically by the platform.

Taxes

Prices displayed in the App Store or Google Play may or may not include applicable taxes (VAT, GST, sales tax, etc.) depending on your region. Any applicable taxes are determined and collected by Apple or Google.

4. Auto-Renewal

SoberX Premium subscriptions renew automatically. Unless you cancel before the end of the current billing period, your subscription will renew and your payment method will be charged for the next period.

  • Monthly subscriptions renew every 1 month.
  • Annual subscriptions renew every 12 months.

The renewal charge is applied to your App Store or Google Play account within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can turn off auto-renewal at any time — see Section 6 for cancellation instructions. Turning off auto-renewal does not immediately cancel your subscription; you retain access until the end of the current paid period.

5. Price Changes

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. If we change the price of your current subscription plan:

  • We will notify you in advance via in-app notice, email, or through the App Store / Google Play notification system.
  • The new price will take effect at your next renewal date — you will not be charged the new price mid-period.
  • If you do not agree to the price change, you may cancel your subscription before the renewal date (see Section 6). Continuing to use SoberX Premium after the new price takes effect constitutes your acceptance.
  • Apple and Google may also independently notify you of price changes in accordance with their own policies.

6. Cancellation

How to cancel

You must cancel your subscription through the platform where you purchased it. We are unable to cancel subscriptions on your behalf.

PlatformCancellation steps
iOS (App Store)Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad → tap your name → SubscriptionsSoberXCancel Subscription
Android (Google Play)Open Google Play → tap your ProfilePayments & subscriptionsSubscriptionsSoberXCancel subscription

You can also manage subscriptions directly at:

Cancellation does not take effect immediately. Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period. You will not receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of the period unless required by applicable law.

Confirmation

After cancelling, you should receive a confirmation from Apple or Google. We recommend keeping this confirmation for your records.

7. Refunds

General policy

Because all payments are processed by Apple or Google, refund requests must be submitted directly to the platform through which you made your purchase:

PlatformRefund request
Applehttps://reportaproblem.apple.com or https://support.apple.com/en-us/118223
Googlehttps://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637

We do not issue refunds directly and cannot override the refund decisions of Apple or Google.

Exceptions — EEA and UK consumers

If you are a consumer located in the EEA or United Kingdom, you may have additional statutory refund and withdrawal rights under applicable consumer protection law. See Section 16 for details.

Charges you believe are unauthorized

If you see a charge on your account that you did not authorize, please:

  1. First, check whether a family member or account-sharing partner may have made the purchase.
  2. Contact Apple or Google directly — they have tools to investigate and reverse unauthorized charges.
  3. If you believe the charge relates to a technical error on our part, contact us at app@icitech.com.tr and we will investigate.

8. What Happens After Cancellation

When your subscription ends:

What changesWhat stays the same
Access to Premium-only features is removedYour account and all data remain intact
You revert to the Free PlanFree Plan features remain fully accessible
Cloud backup may be limitedLocally stored data (logs, entries) is unaffected
AI-powered features may be restrictedCore habit tracking continues

We do not delete your data when your subscription ends. Your recovery history, streaks, and logs are preserved on your account and on your device.

9. Account Deletion vs. Subscription Cancellation

These are two separate actions. It is important to understand the difference:

ActionHow to do itWhat it does
Cancel subscriptionVia App Store or Google PlayStops future billing; Premium access ends at period end; account and data remain
Delete accountSettings → Account → Delete AccountPermanently deletes your SoberX account and data; does not cancel an active subscription

If you delete your account without cancelling your subscription first, you may continue to be billed. Always cancel your subscription through the App Store or Google Play before deleting your account.

10. Subscription Management via RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage subscription state — to verify whether your subscription is active, expired, in trial, or cancelled — so the app can unlock the appropriate features.

RevenueCat receives:

  • A pseudonymous customer ID associated with your account
  • Your subscription status, tier, and transaction history
  • Device platform (iOS or Android) and app version

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, payment card details, or any recovery data. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

11. Platform-Specific Terms

Apple App Store (iOS)

Your use of the App Store is governed by Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions. In accordance with Apple's requirements:

  • The subscription agreement for SoberX Premium is between you and ICI Tech Teknoloji A.Ş., not Apple.
  • Apple is not a party to these Subscription Terms and has no responsibility for the subscription or its content.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance, support, refunds, or any other services related to SoberX Premium beyond those expressly required by applicable law.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Google Play (Android)

Your use of Google Play is governed by Google's Terms of Service and Payments Terms of Service. Google Play is not a party to these Subscription Terms.

12. Promotional Offers and Discount Codes

From time to time, we or our platform partners (Apple or Google) may offer promotional pricing, introductory offers, or discount codes. The following applies to all promotions:

  • Promotional pricing is only available for the period stated in the offer.
  • After the promotional period, your subscription will automatically renew at the standard rate, unless you cancel.
  • Discount codes are single-use, non-transferable, and may not be combined with other offers unless stated otherwise.
  • We reserve the right to modify or withdraw promotional offers at any time.
  • Abuse of promotional offers (e.g., creating multiple accounts to use the same promotion more than once) is prohibited.

13. Subscription Transfers and Sharing

SoberX Premium is a personal, individual subscription. The following are not permitted:

  • Sharing your account credentials with other people
  • Transferring your subscription to another person or account
  • Using a single subscription across multiple users simultaneously
  • Reselling or sublicensing access to SoberX Premium

Violation of these terms may result in immediate suspension of your Premium access without refund.

14. Service Availability

We aim to provide SoberX Premium on a continuous basis. However:

  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of any Premium feature at all times.
  • The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, app store updates, or events beyond our reasonable control.
  • Core offline features of SoberX (habit logging, local crisis tools) are designed to remain available even without an internet connection.
  • We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience arising from temporary unavailability.

15. Changes to Subscription Plans or Features

We reserve the right to:

  • Add, modify, or remove features from any subscription plan
  • Introduce new subscription tiers
  • Discontinue existing subscription plans

If we make a material reduction to the features included in your current paid plan, we will notify you in advance and give you the option to cancel without penalty before the change takes effect.

Changes to Free Plan features do not give rise to a right to cancel a paid subscription.

16. Consumer Rights — EEA and UK Users

If you are a consumer located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, the following additional terms apply. These terms prevail over any conflicting provision in these Subscription Terms to the extent required by mandatory consumer law.

Right of withdrawal (cooling-off period)

Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU (Consumer Rights Directive) and equivalent UK law, you generally have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason ("cooling-off period").

However, by starting your subscription or free trial and accessing SoberX Premium features, you expressly request that performance of the service begin immediately, before the end of the cooling-off period. You acknowledge that:

  • You lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed.
  • If the service has only been partially performed when you withdraw, you may be required to pay for the portion of the service already provided.

If you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal (where applicable), contact us at app@icitech.com.tr within 14 days of your purchase.

Mandatory consumer protections

Nothing in these Subscription Terms affects your rights under mandatory consumer protection legislation in your country of residence, including but not limited to:

  • Your right to a service of satisfactory quality
  • Your right to remedies for faulty or mis-described services
  • Your right to lodge a complaint with your national consumer protection authority

Applicable law for EEA/UK consumers

Regardless of the governing law clause in Section 17, consumers in the EEA and UK retain the protections of the mandatory consumer protection laws of their country of residence, which cannot be contracted out of.

17. Governing Law

These Subscription Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, including the Law on Consumer Protection No. 6502 and the Electronic Commerce Law No. 6563.

For consumers in the EEA and UK, mandatory local consumer protection law also applies as set out in Section 16.

Any disputes shall first be addressed informally by contacting app@icitech.com.tr. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul (Çağlayan), Turkey, subject to the mandatory consumer protection rights described in Section 16.
